The City of Morton’s Recreation Department proudly offers a wide range of athletic opportunities for youth of all ages and skill levels. From Tee Ball and Baseball to Softball, Football, Basketball, and Soccer, our programs are designed to encourage teamwork, build confidence, and keep our young residents active and engaged.

Most city league sports are hosted at Farris Municipal Park, a central gathering place for families and community events. Basketball and football activities are held at Morton Public Schools’ facilities. Recreation is a big part of life in Morton, with many local families participating each season. This strong community support helps create a foundation for success, contributing to the continued achievement of our high school athletic programs year after year.

In addition to youth sports, the Recreation Department hosts the annual “Day in the Park,” held each year on the first Saturday in May at Farris Municipal Park. This family-friendly event features ballgames, arts and crafts, carnival games, and live entertainment from both local and national performers—making it a highlight for the entire community.

The department is led by a dedicated Parks and Recreation Director along with a team of committed Parks and Recreation Commissioners, all working together to enhance the quality of life in Morton.

Farris Municipal Park also offers a variety of amenities for residents and visitors, including a playground for children ages 12 and under, a quarter-mile walking track, and a 3,600-square-foot activities center available for rent for special events and gatherings.
